Costume Ideas

Hi everyone!

I have started getting emails asking about where to start with costumes... Hopefully this will help some!

Orphans
We are doing "muddy" colors (tan, brown, burgundy, navy, olive, etc.). Layers, patches, leggings...all of that is perfect! I am attaching some pictures to give you an idea. If they have brown or black boots, that works great! If not, they should be in black shoes or dance shoes! Email me with any questions! We are making some orphan dresses and costumes, and I have cute boot socks and patches. Just let me know what you need and we will work it out!

City People:
These people will switch between servants (all black skirt, leggings, or shirt with aprons and headbands) and city people for one scene. We are making the aprons and can make the headbands as well. They will need black shirt and skirt/leggings. They will also need to be able to put on a coat or dress for NYC. That song will be brief, so we don't need an elaborate change, but enough to look like they are walking around NYC all fancy! :) Let me know if you need more direction.

Specialty Characters (i.e. FDR, Louisa Howe, Berta Healy, Radio Singers, Dog Catcher, Lt.Ward, Bundles etc.):

I suggest googling images of those characters in different Annie productions. Use your judgment and let the kids be creative! Louisa and Grace are both secretaries and very poised. Berta Healy and the Radio Singers are flashy and fun. The Dog Catcher really could be in plain black or navy blue and make a name tag saying City Pound or Dog Catcher... We can get creative! :)

Let me know if you are totally lost and I will point you in the right direction!

Email me anytime and we will get it all figured out!

Happy spring break! PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! :)
